Last month, Tradelize and Cointelegraph teamed up to hear the craziest crypto stories to mark some of your biggest successes and failures.
You were not disappointed … and it was impossible to choose a winner. For this reason, we have chosen two lucky monks to share a prize of $ 5,000.
The first story belongs to Timofey, who received a gift of $ 100 from his grandmother from Russia. He decided to invest in cryptocurrency – and at the same time fulfill the dream of becoming a film school principal.
Timofey was able to use the profits we received from the investment to finance the filming of the film he filmed for the course, and his grandmother was the main producer. His work was successful – in addition to attending a film festival in Switzerland, he was also shown at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art.
In his story he wrote: “This is a living dream, because I did not expect anything.”
His grandmother lives in a remote village where internet access is limited, which means he has to put his mobile phone in a mud shelf to get a signal. Timofey says that he is now carefully negotiating his ambitions to make a confirmation film. He also managed to return $ 100 to her grandmother and buy her a TV for her birthday.
To conclude the compelling story, he wrote: “I do not always end up making a profit, but I did manage to control myself and eventually learn from mistakes. After all, the stock chart for me is a metaphor for life with ups and downs. Get a good investment, watch a feature film and take care of your grandmothers! ”
Another winner chosen by Cointelegraph was Cryptonaut, who competed in local cybercafe Counter-Strike tournaments in 2011 when Bitcoin traded for about $ 1.
He wrote: “My team and I reached the final after several very accurate matches. It came to a two-to-one situation where I accidentally killed my teammate with friendly fire. Needless to say, we lost the match.
“The winning team received almost $ 500 in cash. Over the course of two summers, we received 20 bitcoins each. At the time, I really did not know what cryptocurrency was. I ended up exchanging my 20 bitcoins for a gaming mouse pad. ”
Kryptonaut still has a mouse pad – but of course he thinks it could be. If he owned the cryptocurrency, it would be worth over $ 1.2 million at the time of writing … more than 2,400 times more than $ 500.
Managers of Tradelize and its partner Wootrade also shared their experiences. Anton Zapolsky shared how he first learned about Bitcoin, and Jack Tan shared an optimistic account of the dark days of the crypto winter of 2018.
An unforgettable quiz
Cointelegraph editor-in-chief Christina Lucrezia Cornier says it was not easy to choose the winners of the competition.
She added: “We all know that the cryptocurrency markets have been full of drama over the last decade – and this competition with Tradelize shows that early adopters have also had many ups and downs. We have seen stories of people who gained financial independence by adopting Bitcoin … and others. Those who lost profits that changed lives after the sale in the early days. With a total market value of $ 2 trillion, the next chapter of the cryptocurrency revolution is all in its infancy, and the rest of the story has yet to be written. ”
You can check the list of winners on the Tradelize website, and the prizes will be awarded next week.
