Jack Dorsey, CEO of the social networking site Twitter, has donated 1 bitcoin (BTC) to the non-profit Brink Group, dedicated to the Bitcoin technology architecture.
“To be honest, we received a donation from BTC for our efforts to fund developers from jack!” Brink tweeted on Tuesday. At time of publication, Bitcoin is valued at $ 46,824.
A report earlier this month showed that the newly formed organization received 503 (c) (3) nonprofit status from the IRS, giving Brink a break from federal taxes.
The device wants to promote Bitcoin by helping developers, as mentioned on the Brink website:
“BRINK exists to leverage the Bitcoin protocol and network through basic research and development, and to support the Bitcoin developer community through funding, training, and mentoring.”
Dorsey has previously shown an interest in Bitcoin. In 2020, he described his postal book on origins as poetic. In the fall of 2020, Square unveiled another company led by Dorsey, and also donated $ 50 million in BTC. Dorsey ranked 16th on Cointelegraph’s Top 100 Crypto Industry this year.
