On Thursday, The Sandbox announced a partnership with Warner Music Group, or WMG, to create a music park and concert venue in the game’s Meta universe. Warner Music Group LAND at The Sandbox will host concerts and live shows with artists and talents represented by WMG.
This initiative marked Warner Music’s first foray into the non-fungible token (NFT) metaverse. According to a statement shared with Cointelegraph, the goal is to create an immersive social experience that can empower Warner Music artists. The Sandbox can provide another opportunity for artists to connect with fans, experience virtual entertainment, and generate new revenue streams while reaching a global community.
Sebastian Borg, COO and co-founder of The Sandbox, said the partnership “takes another step forward toward fan- and community-owned initiatives.”
“We are creating The Sandbox as a place of fun entertainment where creators, fans and gamers can enjoy first-of-its-kind immersive experiences and become more connected to their favorite music artists through NFT,” he added.
The digital land is still in demand, and Sandbox’s consistently high volume of trading makes it one of the most competitive meta releases from competing Decentraland. According to the company, The Sandbox will hold a ground sale in March 2022 to allow audiophiles to purchase LAND near the WMG property.
