Non-custodial cryptocurrency platform ShapeShift DAO has launched a new NFT auction to support female artists in the non-fungible token and blockchain industry, a segment of the population that is still underrepresented in this emerging digital economy.
Block 495559 – Crypto Kitties and Great Hairball in the Tubes, a one-of-a-kind NFT series created by artist LunaHawk and ShapeShift DAO GrayMachine, will be auctioned off at OpenSea April 4-11. . The NFT Chain was created on the Ethereum mainnet and will feature animal-themed digital art that conveys the story of cryptocurrencies through different animals.
ShapeShift DAO members approved the 10-piece NFT LunaHawk series in October 2021. The set was first presented at the ETH Denver conference in February.
According to GrayMachine, the NFT auction will be the first in a series to launch in the “coming weeks and months.”

ShapeShift DAO plans to contribute 10% of NFT income to the Women of Crypto Art Fund, a community group that supports women in digital art. Contributions will be made through Giveth, a charitable fundraising platform focused on cryptocurrency.

In addition to promoting women on the blockchain, ShapeShift DAO said the auction will also support the needs of the decentralized autonomous organization as it continues to grow.
As Cointelegraph reported, ShapeShift began decentralizing its entire enterprise in July 2021 in a unique move that included the largest flydrop in history and full open source code for the platform. The ShapeShift DAO Management Tax Chamber, as well as employees and company shareholders, have received a three-year dividend plan beginning June 2, 2021.
Meanwhile, the NFT market has slowed significantly from its explosive growth in 2021. At the beginning of March, monthly NFT buyers fell below 800,000 for the first time since October, when the search volume for digital collectibles also declined. Despite the setback, NFT adoption appears to be on an upward trajectory in the midst of broader global consciousness.
