Netflix may be the next Fortune 100 company to buy Bitcoin (BTC), and Amazon must accept that, says billionaire Tim Draper.
In his Unstoppable Podcast speech on February 28, the series investor and hacker predicted that of all possible candidates, Netflix would be his choice to include BTC on the balance sheet.
Draper: Netflix “May Be the Next Big Player”
“Do you know who he is? Netflix,” he said.
“I think Reed Hastings is a very innovative guy, and he has a lot of creative thinking, and I think he still has control over Netflix, so I think that could be the next big failure.”
The prediction came as visible signs of institutional buying continued to emerge at current prices, with a total of $ 48,000 in large transactions over the past week on Coinbase Pro. Classic shoppers MicroStrategy and Square have increased their positions.
Draper is always optimistic, and also believes that Amazon will add direct payments to Bitcoin in the future.
“Amazon will probably start accepting bitcoin very soon,” he said, noting that consumers have been able to buy products indirectly using cryptocurrency for years.
Amazon added Ethereum availability to the managed blockchain this week.
The BTC price breaks through the weekly peaks
Meanwhile, Bitcoin reversed its fortune on Wednesday, breaking out of the $ 40,000 aisle and peaking at $ 51,800, the highest level since February 25.
Surprise traders, the higher levels hold at the time of writing, with BTC / USD hovering at $ 51,500.
“Everything went well,” summed up the famous merchant Scott Melker the night activity.
“The price has broken both patterns, the local bullish flag and the downward channel. It is currently trading above the 50% retracement level for the entire move, so holding above ~ $ 50,600 would be very optimistic. Let’s keep the momentum going.”
Cointelegraph previously highlighted a stagnation in the US dollar as a catalyst for short-term gains.
