The tech giant Microsoft appears to be considering offering Bitcoin (BTC) payments on the Xbox online game store.

According to a March 21 Reddit post on r / XboxSeriesX, Microsoft released a survey asking Xbox users which payment methods are preferred in online stores.

Which other payment method would you like to use on Xbox? Requests a future survey that points to Bitcoin as one of the possible payment methods. The same image traded across several other lower-rated categories, including r / ethtrader and r / Bitcoin.

An Xbox user said the survey is available “if you participate in the Xbox Insider Beta Program for OS Updates.”

Microsoft did not immediately respond to Cointelegraph’s request for comment.

In 2014, Microsoft began accepting bitcoins to fund Microsoft accounts, allowing US users to purchase content from Windows, including Xbox games. After the payment method was stopped briefly, Microsoft resumed Bitcoin payments to the MS Store in January. Cryptocurrency payments are not currently supported on the Xbox Online Store.

Although it may be open to accepting Bitcoin as a payment method, Microsoft has no plans to take major steps in the crypto space like Tesla. President Brad Smith said the company has no plans to diversify its cryptocurrency after Tesla invested $ 1.5 billion in Bitcoin.
