A subsidiary of LG Global Group will take part in the launch of the flagship network of the Vietnamese hybrid blockchain project KardiaChain.
LG CNS, a consulting and technology company for LG Corporation, has partnered with KardiaChain to act as a researcher for the upcoming flagship network launch in late December.
According to the December 17 announcement, LG CNS will be validating the KardiaChain network with major Vietnamese companies such as multinational conglomerate Geleximco, global technology company HPT Vietnam and taxi group Mai Linh.
Through the partnership, KardiaChain will also work with LG CNS to integrate the blockchain with the LG CNS blockchain protocol known as Monachain. Launched in 2018, Monachain is dedicated to providing blockchain-based digital authentication and supply chain management.
Thus, KardiaChain and LG CNS intend to work together on various applications related to decentralized identity, liberation and smart city technologies. LG CNS will also support KardiaChain as it enters the South Korean market, which is expected in 2021.
The new partnership takes place just two weeks ahead of the launch of the flagship network KardiaChain, which kicks off on December 29th. Tri Pham, CEO and co-founder of KardiaChain, says the company’s mission is to provide accessible blockchain to millions of users. According to Fam, KardiaChain is “the first interoperable blockchain launched in Southeast Asia.”
South Korean electronics giant LG Corporation has been actively exploring blockchain technology through its subsidiaries in recent years. In May 2020, LG Electronics joined the board of directors of Hedera Hashgraph, the leading publicly distributed accounting platform for the entire business. LG CNS previously partnered with Evernym of America to develop international digital identity standards for the World Wide Web Consortium.
As reported in September 2019, it was reported that LG is also working with blockchain smartphone rival Samsung Klaytn.
