Hong Kong Bitcoin Association, a major local alliance promoting awareness and cryptocurrency education, launches a Bitcoin Tram Advertising Campaign in Hong Kong; One of the world’s largest financial centers.
According to the announcement on September 11, the new advertising campaign consists of three double-decker trams that are completely covered by bitcoin logos and advertisements, as well as 20 similarly designed billboards throughout the city.
The Hong Kong Bitcoin Society reported that the “education campaign” was initiated by the Hong Kong Bitcoin Society and coordinated by the association. The non-profit organization added that the campaign is funded by the community.
According to a public announcement, the Bitcoin tram campaign will run from September 11 to October 8, with billboards in the city to be launched on October 1.
The advertising campaign is expected to contribute to the global adoption of the digital economy, as it says:
“We hope the campaign will provide an opportunity to discuss how Bitcoin fits into a rapidly digitalizing global economy, the opportunities and risks of large-scale technological development, and the testable consequences of digital scarcity.”
In addition to bitcoin logos, the bitcoin tram campaign also includes some phrases and quotes that promote the use of bitcoin. Some quotes belong to the American author Stuart Brand and the famous American naval officer T.A.M. Craven. One of the data states: “More US dollars were printed in 2020 than in 2009. There will only be 21 million bitcoins. ”
According to OKEx CEO Jay Hao’s tweet on September 11, the bitcoin ad is right in front of HSBC’s headquarters. The attached image shows the ad that encourages Hong Kong citizens to become their “private bank”.
As the Cointelegraph reported, HSBC was reportedly among a number of global banks that designated their customers in Hong Kong amid protests against China’s national security law.
Cointelegraph contacted the Hong Kong Bitcoin Association to learn more about the bitcoin advertising campaign. This article will be updated in anticipation of new information from the association.
Mass advertising for Bitcoin in Hong Kong came just after seeing a new big Bitcoin ad in the Hong Kong tabloid Apple Daily in late August 2020. Bitcoin’s full-page announcement promised that “Bitcoin will never leave you. “
