EDM star Deadmau5 has partnered with digital artist Misha Dovbak, aka Mad Dog Jones, to publish two NFT art collections on Winklevoss’s Nifty portal.
The work has already raised $ 338,000 and the final auction is still pending. Block Heater, an NFT edition, currently has a $ 20,000 show with almost 19 hours remaining.
NFT is a mix of music from the well-known multi-nominated Deadmau5 and illustrations from Dowbak, whose previous group NFT, in association with DJ 3Lau, sold out in seconds.
Dovbak is a frequent partner of renowned clients, creating artwork for Run The Jewels, Jabbawockeez, Conor McGregor, Maroon 5 and Chromeo.
This isn’t Deadmau5’s first NFT competition. In December 2020, he released a 30 second audio work, which sold for $ 49,277. That same month, 6,000 NFT packages were listed on the Wax Exchange, with content from recent shows and videos worth just $ 100,000. The artist appears to be helping spread the word about NFT to his fan base, including 3.5 million followers on Twitter, 2.5 million on Instagram, and 1.7 million on YouTube.
This week, Nifty Gateway also welcomed Rick and Morty co-founder Justin Royland, who will apply for the NFT collection on January 19. Millions last December.
The Nifty Hepworth Group will open tomorrow in collaboration with British DJ Carl Cox.
