Sensorium Galaxy, a not yet released virtual reality platform, has signed a contract with famed French DJ David Guetta. The platform hosts its own ERC-20 token known as SENSO.

“Similar to in-game currencies such as V-Bucks Fortnite, SENSO is used for all valuable transactions in the Sensorium Galaxy,” Alex Blagriev, CEO of IR, Blockchain and Technology at Sensorium Corporation, told Cointelegraph. “Although this is the first implementation of blockchain. In our alternative world, we are working on other applications of distributed ledger technology, ”said Blaggerev.

“One of the applications we are currently studying is how users store their personal files on the platform. Unlike other social virtual reality platforms, Sensorium Galaxy’s avatars are powered by artificial intelligence, which means that they identify the behavioral patterns of their users and that they can act independently based on this learning. Over time, avatars become surprisingly accurate virtual representations of me. However, keeping this profile on the blockchain will provide higher security and stability.
Guetta is happy to work with Sensorium and says the platform is much better than displaying current events on the screen, according to his comments in the press release.

Sensorium is expected to hit the market in the first half of 2021 and is funded by former Brooklyn Nets owner and Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov, as well as TIDAL, a subscription media streaming platform owned and revived by popular rapper Jay-Z. In a statement, Sensorium has sold TIDAL a stake in the platform’s SENSO tokens for a total of $ 7 million.

The VR platform positions itself as a digital ecosystem where participants can interact with each other, watch concerts and participate in other events represented by their own digital entities.

Sensorium boasts offerings built by Guetta, which has already adapted to the digital world in a year hit by COVID-19 and subsequent restrictive measures. The Music Coordinator has worked on several popular live broadcasts to fund pandemic relief in 2020, including a live show in Miami in April.

“As a first step in this multi-level collaboration, a series of exclusive shows [] of the Alternative Sensorium universe will be created, which will only be available through SENSO tokens,” Guetta said in a statement.

As for the rationale for creating a custom token for the platform instead of just using bitcoins, Blagirev cited flexibility, security, and interoperability. “The Ethereum network is without a doubt one of the most popular blockchain chains on the market and is supported by all cryptocurrency wallet providers, exchanges, etc.,” which means it will be easier for users to use and store the asset.

“In addition, the Ethereum network offers transactions much faster than Bitcoin,” he added. “Smart contracts have also played an important role in the development of SENSO as they help us build trust and increase transparency for end users.”

Blagirev said Sensorium, however, plans to migrate from the Ethereum blockchain to its parent network at some point in the future.

Guetta is not the first celebrity in the music industry to switch to coding. Several other players have interacted with the industry in one form or another, including rock star Gene Simmons.
