Brave Browser recently reached a milestone with 20 million active users every month, up from 8.7 million in the same period last year. The number of daily active users increased at a similar rate from 3 million to 7 million.
The number of certified content creators on the Brave platform has grown from 300,000 last year to nearly a million today. Brave is a privacy-focused browser that rewards members for serving ads with the Basic Attention Token (BAT). Many users choose to donate some or all of the characters they earn to online content creators. Since the start of the project, these contributors have paid out 26 million BAT to the creators.
Brave is built on Chromium, which is the same program that runs Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers. This means that Chrome browser extensions also work in Brave, which helps remove barriers to adoption. However, Brave claims that it provides users with much better privacy than the competition. The company has also called on authorities to take action against several tech giants, which Brave believes is abusing its power at the expense of users.
