On Thursday, Sky Mavis, the creator of the monster fighting game Axie Infinity, released the long-awaited RON governance token. The token is based on the Ronin Ethereum network (ETH). The purpose includes paying for transactions on Ronin, taking risks and participating in community offers.
According to the developers, Ronin has over 250,000 unique active addresses per day. Katana, the decentralized Ronin Exchange (DEX), sorted by weekly active users, is the second largest DEX. In addition, the invested value of the blockchain has exceeded $ 5 billion, with 15% of all non-fungible token (NFT) transactions occurring on the network in 2021. In total, there have been over 2 million Ronin Wallet downloads. It is also considered environmentally friendly as a bitcoin allegedly uses an amount equivalent to the energy of almost 700 million ronin transactions.
But hopes for a steady launch have been met with complaints from a number of Axie Infinity players. In Axie Infinity, users are rewarded with a resource called Smooth Love Potion (SLP) to complete tasks. Senior users can earn around 1400 SLP per day by playing Axie Infinity, or 680 SLP if they join a guild. As a result of the bear market for cryptocurrency, SLP fell from $ 0.36 in May to $ 0.01 in recent weeks. Many players have taken to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction with Axie Infinity to shift the focus to RON development instead of doing more to support the value of SLP.
However, players can get some relief as 70 million of the first offer of 185 million will be given to various members of the community (including players) for their contributions. At the time of press release, each RON is currently worth 3.30 Tether (USDT) on OKX.
